Simplifying packing & labeling with seamless automation

Through an integration with a FedEx-recommended hazardous goods labeling solution, Pando's Packing Execution solution was able to ensure the validation of the chemicals according to material type with all appropriate labels displayed and the regulatory documents were made readily available on the platform for printing. In addition to this, a master data specific to the management of dangerous goods was set up within Pando's solution with details like product shipping name, UNID, packing group, and mode of transfer recorded at the backend. This made it possible for the company to distinguish their deliveries, provide packing instructions at pack stations with specialized consolidation and repack functionalities, and enable automatic printing of necessary documentation.

Enabling seamless collaboration through the transport execution process

Cross country freight charges for all means of transport - air, road, and ocean for both full container and less-than-load containers, were incorporated into Pando's Collaborative Execution solution. Identification of the suitable mode of transport depending on the organization's freight priorities and seamless collaboration was ensured with specialized workflows to manage air, ocean and inland movements.

Unlocking visibility across multi-modal and multichannel shipments

One of the biggest challenges GCPL faced in executing shipments was the lack of visibility into the shipments for themselves and their carriers at different stages of the execution process. GCPL was unable to track the trucks carrying their goods once they’d left the warehouses and this meant that the estimation of Turnaround Times (TATs) was not possible. Pando’s Collaborative Execution solution was easily accessible via web or mobile to all stakeholders in the process, both internal and external, enabling real-time visibility and synchronized updates. Tracking trucks became simple through SIM-based, app-based, and GPS (onboard telematics) tracking ensuring continuous, integrated notification pinning.

Maintaining a comprehensive record through digitized documentation

From the moment a truck is assigned by a carrier and enters GCPL’s warehouse or factory facilities, all the document verification happens within the Pando solution online. ‘Truck in’, ‘truck out’, ‘loading’ functions along with timestamps are recorded within the platform along with the date. With ePODs, and sign-on glass, the GCPL team and their carriers can ensure they’re on the same page with regard to recording of shortages and damages as soon as the truck reaches its destination. This helps ensure better overall SLA performance and in-yard tracking.
